Please read carefully to help keep everyone safe and the Fair running smoothly!
Devon County Council has issued a temporary traffic order for the days around this year’s Fair. Here’s what you need to know 👇
🚗 Sunday 26 October
Station Road (from Luke Street to Barnhay)
⏰ Closed to parking from 12:01am to 6:00pm
👉 Only official Fair vehicles are allowed to park.
🚧 Wednesday 29 October
No parking from 3:00pm to midnight on:

High Street (between New Lane and the junction towards South Molton Road)

Tiverton Road (between Scotts and Old Tiverton Road)

South Molton Road (between Broadmead entrance and the junction towards South Molton Street)

B3190 (Morebath Road – between Chiltern Farm and B3227)

B3227 (Wiveliscombe Road – between Court Grove Farm entrance and the B3190 junction)
🎠 Thursday 30 October – FAIR DAY!
Full road closures and parking restrictions will be in place throughout the town.
From 12:01am to 11:59pm:
🚫 No vehicles (except authorised Fair vehicles) may drive, park or wait on:
Briton Street • Brook Street • Fore Street • Castle Street • Luke Street • Newton Square (including Back Street) • High Street • South Molton Road • Station Road
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A396 and B3227 (see the image below).
Additional parking restrictions (12:01am–10:00pm):
Same as Wednesday’s list above (High Street, Tiverton Road, South Molton Road, Morebath Road, Wiveliscombe Road).
Ford Road (traffic flow changes):

⏰ 6:00am–1:00pm: One-way towards town (south-west) only

⏰ 1:00pm–8:00pm: One-way out of town (north-east) only
Diversions will be clearly signed.
ℹ️ This is to allow for Bampton Charter Fair setup, safety checks, and the main event.
Please plan ahead, park considerately, and follow the diversion signs.

Car Parking
Public Car Parks (£5 per vehicle) are available on both sides of the town (see map above). All will be clearly signed.
Motte Car Park on the Recreation Ground by the Motte - if arriving from Taunton, South Molton, Dulverton, or
Minehead direction.
South Car Park by the Scout Hut on the Old Tiverton Road - if arriving from the Tiverton/Exeter Inn direction.
Meeting Point/Lost & Found
Please use the Information Stall in Newton Square as a meeting point for lost children, friends or property (see map above).
First Aid
An ambulance crew can be found near Frog Street (see map above).
Buses
Note that because of road closures, there will be two bus stops, a temporary one at Scotts quarry industrial estate (can be reached via footpath from Station Road Industrial Estate) and one at the top of Castle Street at the B3190 Morebath Road turning.
