Introducing the Band NO BIG DEAL

Hi I'm John Chumbley a musician from Tiverton. Nigel Goodwin our Guitarist from Oakfordbridge and I  began playing together at Open mic nights at the Quarrymen Bampton in early 2023.

During one Open Mic Night in early 2024, Doug Parish a well known local Bampton musician and Radio10 Broadcaster introduced a very good Bass Player friend of his to us both called Dave Cottey (AKA Hukeley Fields) from Shillingford.

We enjoy how each other play so began playing a few songs together during the spring of 2024 ; that's how the line up came together. After a few jam sessions and open mics later I had the idea of using a Drum Machine to give the band some depth and impact and that addition got us noticed and were asked to do some gigs so we thought we'd better get 2 x 45minute sets together to play these gigs as a Band.

We didn't have a name at that time so both Nigel and Dave suggested we call the band NO BIG DEAL. I had written and performed this original song at previous Open Mc Nights and so I agreed with them to call the band "No Big Deal!, that's how the Band Name came about. Well now we play up tempo 60's 70's and 80's and original songs from Rock, Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues and Country and are even working on some Reggae tunes at present to so it's a mixture of old familiar songs with our own unique edge to in and our own very new material.

If you think you would like our music come along and see us at the fair, we'd love to see you there and don't forget to bring your Hat and your dancing shoes too!
